Sacrificial seat material

G'day
I'm about to resurface by boat and want to glue a couple sacrificial pads on the tubes where we sit. My boat is made of hypalon, and I will resurface it with Tuff-Coat. Hypalon costs $30 per square foot which will work out pretty expensive for decent seat pads, is there any other, cheaper material that would be suited to this purpose?
Thanks
Koops

My scuff pads are made of EPDM. Not sure if it's any cheaper, though. It, apparently, does not glue as well as hypalon, however. Gives me a bit of practice with the sticky stuff every now and then.

How about some flat rubbing strake or similar. Will also protect the tubes from people standing on the tubes as well.
