RYA powerboat courses

Hi,

Is it possible to combine the various RYA powerboat courses and/ or to create a course suitable for an individual's experience? I have worked at sea for many years and have operated various RIBs offshore but that was some time ago now. I'd like to buy my own RIB to use when home in Scotland but thought it would be wise to complete some kind of training program first. I completed the North Sea FRC courses in the 90's. Had a look at the RYA website and started thinking... is it possible to arrange a course that will take into account what I know already but still get me to the required level (e.g. advanced powerboat) while briefly revising the basics? If so, can anyone recommend a good, reliable school or person qualified to do this?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

John

Yes, of course that's possible. We can work with you to create a completely bespoke programme. You tell us what your target level is, we can help you assess where you are at the moment, then we work together to fill the gaps.

No problem at all. Doesn't even have to be an RYA course if there isn't one that suits what you need

Ok, thanks for your fast reply. I'll give you a ring when back ashore so we can discuss what I'd like to do.
