before you change the winchstrap dont do what this idiot did and buy a thicker one...........only to find that the extra thickness meant the belt wouldn't fit in the wheel.

Already gone through that loop............

on Sat. After we'd recovered the boat a mate said "hang on I've got a spare winch strap in the back of my truck". Indeed he did and it was and inch too thick so no blimmin use! I will be measuring it tonight prior to ordering a new one tommorrow!

I'm glad I'm not the only one to suffer from "thick winch strap syndrome" - had to cut 1.5m off my new orange one to get it to fit on the drum But it does look very smart though. Be warned, the Parrymore ones are on the thick side.

Jono

I am hoping to meet Jools at Membury Services then travel along with him. The Services you pass on the M4 is Heston - give us your ETA at these services and we will meet you there to make sure we all arrive at the right place on time.

May be time to go to Mobiles / phone numbers?

Jono - you happy to co-ordinate this?

Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday at 9.00am. I'll be on the river around Chas Newhams. I'll monitor CH16.

Should we agree a working channel now do you think?
