Right To Roam The Coastline

If the law is changed, the opportunity to land at all those posh little beaches is a mouth-watering one:

I thought the beaches were all owned by the Crown. If you want to develop any part of the beach, this is who you apply to. Might be wrong though....

When you say 'develop any part of the beach......' does this mean sand castles as well?

I think its important to keep up to date with current legislation changes etc, and personally I'm not against opening up the beaches. But I also think its important to respect the privacy of individuals or landowners who wish to keep their bit of the world 'private'. At the end of the day, we wouldnt want a bumbling load of ramblers strolling through our back gardens - would we? (And you can guarentee the ramblers association hasnt been granted right of access to stroll along any beaches or flats etc in Devonport (not that there are any) or similar naval / military area etc.

I think as far as us boaters goes - the obvious exception to the rule stays the same - That being we can pretty much land where the blumin' ell we like where there is the need to 'land' or go ashore in order to preserve life, prevent injury to persons or prevent the loss of / damage to your equipment / beloved RIB........

Yep nos, i think you`re right. According to this link http://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/15_o.../39_marine.htm
the crown owns all the seabed up to the highest tide mark, and right out to the 12 mile limit, the rest of the beach could either be privately owned, or even leased from the crown to conservationist, companys etc.. so theres no problem in landing anywhere as long as its not mod for safety reasons.

Ther`s too many laws and rules in this country, its being strangled by pen pushers who have no idea about anything! This new right to roam law is only a good thing, as long as people are responsible about it. (rant over.....starting to calm down......composure now normal...ahhhh)
Sweden sounds about right, I`m off!

Bikes....hahahaaa. Not yet!!! But we have many other stupid laws and directions....12% vat on food (ok), 6% newspaper and transportation with a bus.(ok) 25% on rib boats, computers and VOLVO, and most other things to. (Baaaad)
