ribs and knives......

dont mix

Ive just caught my rib with a knife and put a 1.5" cut in it. What a knob!!

The issue is a week tomorrow Im off to Lake Annecy with said boat.

Its a Valiant V520, so I believe it has PVC hulls? Ive already emailed Kieron @ Ribshop to see if he can replace the panel this week, but if he is too busy can anyone recommend a home repair patch that is good?

Many thanks in advance

It might seem odd, but a temporary clamshell repair kit might be ideal if no-one can fit you in before you leave. That way, there would be no adhesive to clean off later. They're a very solid patch and won't pop - unlike a poor repair...

Do you have a link to this sort of temporary repair?

Wow, that looks great. Thanks all. I'm going to order one anyway to have on the boat just in case. Fingers are still tightly crossed for ribshop, and if not I'll use this, just worried about having it on for a two week holiday, being used everyday.

Anyone used one, how good are they?

Hi Oli - I've used one as a temporary repair some years ago. The one I had was given to me by the Dutch marines, it worked perfectly and I keep one on the boat all the time. I think the one used was the same as the one linked just black in colour. Would be great if you did a short trip report after Annecy - I'm planning on a similar trip next year with a 6m rib.

All sorted. Fitted a clam seal. What a device, very impressed.

Booking it into Ribshop on my return for a proper repair.

And f you search Annecy I'm sure I did a review on here.
