is the boat a 2005 too? if so when did the new owners take over? Before then RIBquest's reputation wasn't as good as it is now...

I see you're local!

Looks like the older style Ribquest. Speak to Dave Rose at Ribquest to confirm. I visited their factory last October because I was weighing up the options regards their 4.8m commercial, however price was against me. They build fantastic boats and the level of detail and workmanship is excellent. For roughly the same money you'd pay on a 5 year old 5.8m with unknown history - you could get a new 4.8m with a Suzuki or Yamaha 60hp. It competed in RIB International's <4m Round Scotland challenge and had excellent reports by all accounts.

I personaly think they are pretty good!! just check the console and seats are secured properly (there was a couple of issues with the earlier ones, ours are all fine and its a 2004) oh and dont expect it to be too quick with the Suzi 90, though its very economical.

Ours is the 5.3 with the same engine and tops out about 36ish knotts with a 21 inch prop at WOT and nudging 56000 rpm, they are pretty heavy boats esp with that flipping backrest bench\watertight locker that this one and ours has got on it and a double console it weighs a tonne but we found it handles pretty nasty swells very well for a smaller sized rib.

As this appears to be a current ebay listing is there a history to this boat?
