Rib tv is it possible

We have top gear for cars, Is there anybody out there that knows someone at sky that could commision a new series from powerboat training, testing, buying, servicing, engines etc.
Sound like a good program already as so many people are choosing boating as their hobby/sport.
This is a great Forum for finding out informationabout ribs as a new member I have learnt a lot in the last week but we love to see thing on tv don't we?

TV

I believe powerboating is shown on some of the digital channels already but I don't think there would be the subscription to provide a fulltime boating channel.

One of the Stigs is in the water somewhere - maybe someone could find him

I reckon Sky could have Rib TV - if they had Manchester United TV, then surely they could do a rib tv channel....

No no, not me... it's everyone around me seems to be leaping out their RIBs!

Alex - you were obviously watching what I consider to be one of the finer comedy programmes on telly at the mo. I thought that their choice of "Don't fear the Reaper" (Blue Oyster Cult) whilst reminiscing some of the outgoing Stig's finer moments was classy!

not to mention the complete BMW fest, and my favourite car of all time, the E30 BMW M3. Back to the matter at hand, the only powerboat show i can think of is Motors Boat on Motors TV (sky only, i think). It's ok, but only one new show a month and it tends to feature few RIBs.

Top Gear did actually do a boat show once, but it was awfull. We actually came up with the idea - even spoke to Jeremy Clarksons manager (his wife!), then they nicked the idea and cocked it up - the whole thing lasted one very short series and landed in the bin - ah well!

I'm sure that I also remember Clarkson in a Riva Aquarama, and in some endurance race in a small catamaran in France. Or was that another prog (I think he did another prog. about other general larking around not specifically cars?)

I recall that show, it was rubbish. RIB/BOAT T.V is a great idea, however, other than the BBC you would struggle to get another network interested as they themselves just wouldn't be able to attract the advertisers to sell space around the show. "Cars - a gazillion owners, Boats - very few by comparision".

Prehaps channel five could introduce a boat test slot on 5th gear or be added on to some type of outdoor show camping or motor homes program a multi outdoor program should get plenty of viewers.
Caravaning, camping and boats all go together well.

Or an hour long documentry on our last Atlantic crossing scheduled to be shown on Portsmouth and Southampton TV Thursday 6th November then nationaly later in the year. Or a half hour programe on the Discovery Channel about the Around the World early next year.
I do not know what is happening to Bears footage that was scheduled for C4 but I am sure that it will be shown at some time

Hello dear,

I suspect it is being shown on the local channel NOT ITV. I think you need SKY or at least a digibox to receive it but I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong...
