fantastic boats

Theyre great!!!

I have 9m on order and Ian has a 7.5m on order, what engine are you looking at? i would imagine a 140 (suzuki) would go well on it.

Sounds like Prosport are going to be busy this winter. I'm looking at getting their 8.5m. Especially as I have just been told that Mako have lost the contract to build the 7.8m Ballistic in South Africa because of inferior build quality.

The boat im looking at is advertised on boatsandoutboards.com

Its a 6m prosport, I think its a new model as it's not on their website.
Brand new with brand new suzuki 115.
All the necessary extras (console, seating, nav lights etc)
advertised at £12500.
Seems like a bit of a bargain to me as i was willing to pay £11-£12k for a second hand ribcraft 5.85
That 12.5k will be more like 13.5k after all the other things i'll need for it though...

From the website i gathered they do 2 different hull shapes. A very deep v for the 7.5 and a shallower hull for the 6.5.

Anybody know about the 6m's hull?

Hi everyone, 1st post but have been following the forum for some time while looking for my 1st rib.
Have spoken with Jason at Prosport about the 6m/Suzuki 115 and planning to take a flight over to look at their operation plus sea trials.
VAT does apply to the price, but it is the responsibility of the purchaser to notify HM customs that it is being imported!!!
Even with the VAT, given the spec level, it doesn't look a bad deal if the build quality is right.
Does Charles know something we should. Why wait till next week.

Unfortunately i think it does I suspect also that there may be an amount of import duty to pay as well. I know there is at least one Vat Inspector that uses these forums so perhaps he could tell us?

It still sounds like a good deal, only because its all brand new and will still only just be above the 2nd hand price for similar boats that i have looked at.

Although when you add on GPS, VHF, Fishy, Anchor............

And they may well try and charge extra for things like the anchor locker, and even more for a rubbing strake on the tubes, im sure after 10 mins looking at the options list then that price will have increased by rather a lot.

Plus that price only includes 2 single jockey seats, i would need seatign for at least another 2 people.

you'll find that jason probably won't like usual companies, I could have whateva seating layout I wanted, and stick and anchor locker or a 'cuddy' on the front, and the price was the same

No import duty on CI goods. VAT is applicable and HM Customs will send you the relevant forms if you contact their helpline.
This is on new boats, not sure on used craft though, and don't know what constitutes a used boat. Is it engine hours or age of package etc?

Charles, any chance of posting or PM'ing your comments this week as I fly out on Saturday AM to discuss final specification with Jason!!!
