Project LOMAC -at last

Well after just a year I got on the water today. Everything went great apart from the engine idle being a bit high and having to make 6 attempt to get it back on the trailer, Needed the trailer to be in deeper and the driver needs more practice. Do not have any performance numbers other than it is scary fast for me. My buddy estimated about 50mph. Prop ( 19inch seems OK @ 5500rpm WOT. Hole shot was less than 3 sec. and when on the plane it took off like a rocket. Everything very stable and controllable. Here are a few pics.
1. Capt. Ken
2. First Mate me
3. Tied up at the floating toilets in the middle of the lake.
4. Passing one of the islands. Capt. Ken was on the island
5. Passing island again

Actually we had 20kts of wind earlier in the morning and this produce a very short 2ft. chop at the S. end of the lake. With the bow trimmed down did not even feel it. However, what I did find interesting when it went calm was playing around with rpm and trim I could get it balanced on the planing pad and a real "sweet spot" at about 3800 rpm. The sound of the engine changed to something like a sewing machine and the boat accelerated. Great fun experimenting and getting the feel of the boat

Project LOMAC

I need to add to yesterday's post that the maiden voyage was due, in no small part, to the advice and encouragement from the the members of this forum. Also, to "Capt. Ken" now renamed Captain America by Loco, who arrived at the launch ramp with 6 life jackets, Danforth with chain and 3 fenders as a gift. Nice to have good old friends.
Regards, and thanks to all
PS. I now owe him lunch and a few beers.
