Ian, I can tell you it's still not big enough You'll be surprised of the amount of difficult nuts and bolts there are.

The latest installment of pics, I didn't get too much done this week due to the missus going into hospital for a couple of days (didn't want to risk the missus saying I spend more time with my Vipermax than her ), but none the less got some issues sorted with regard to layout and how things will fit in the console.

Got a nice shiney Control lever with a neutral lock and BIG trim switch and also managed to get all the switches on the same panel which I'm really happy about.

The Carbon template is where I propose to put all the instruments, Tacho in the middle with the trim, volts, fuel, water pressure gauge and clock around.

Are those cunning little stainless railings your mighty fine craftsmanship andy?! Looks great, I'm very jealous! I think you may be on the way to qualifying for RIB build of the year 2007 and receiving back the award that you made in the first place!

Very tidy. I think this may be setting the standard for home-finished Vipermax's.

With the cost of the stainless items comming though, it would be cheaper to invest in a TIG inverter and buy a bender and DIY it.

Andy, I posted here about bending and stainless bend suppliers but it's either gone into the either or I've accidentally attached it to another thread .

I anyone finds it, post a link please.

Meanwhile; Nexusflow and PDF for bends data

Been readying parts for a fibreglassing experience .

Cut out a hole in the side of the Console to take the fuel filler and breather (see pic).

Cut two holes though the rear Bench (see pic) to accept a drain tube that'll drain any build up of water that collects in the U shape of the seats and will provide a little more re-inforcing of the seat side that gave an ominous loud CRACK sound when I put my foot against it This drain tube will be glassed and flowcoated by my own fair hands, thanks guys for you advice on another thread and a special thanks to JW who sent me down a books book on Fibreglassing

Drain plug holes are in and ready for when I do the flowcoating and sealing bit (photo).

I chose to have two screw in type inspection hatches in the rear transom boxes and a witches hat rubber boot gland for the cables, I waned the stainless type of top hat and to fit flexi conduit, but there is no facility to fit it to the outboard end, so will look at solutions later.

I'm still looking at ways to fit my batterys to the two frames that'll be fitted to the deck inside the console, some sort of strap perhaps.

I'm also still working out console layout and can't decide whether to have the VHF inside the console and use the command mike on the console, this might affect where I mount the Gauges of which I have 5 to mount. To add the GPS and Depth finder and too look good and uncluttered is becomming an obsession for me .

I toyed with making my own Stainless, but was given a name of a local man by Downhilldai (Brad). He turned up yesterday and will make me two winged seat backs and a console grabrail and special grabhandle. Seatbacks should be ready by end of next week and console rail a short time after that.

my attention is turning to upholstery but untill I've got the seat backs positioned I don't really know how big the seat bases will be and how I will hinge them, especially the rear transverse one.

A special word of thanks goes to all the guys that have offered advice and given help in helping me acheive thus so far. Nasher, thanks very much for allowing me to rumage around your garage and Stu for the fiberglass supplies.

I have been running out of space on the console for a fixed VHF... Picked up a Standard Horizon unit down a the show for £155 with the additonal command mic included

Just need to fit this now looks like it could be a nice space saving sloution...

Yes, that's exactly what I've got. I must admitt to not liking the command mike much as I like rotory controls, so might mount both on the console. I was going to have a play with ideas tonight, but thunder and rain have stopped play for the time being.

She's looking good Andy.

All that hard work and research will be worth it.

have had a quick play with them and I have to say the comand mic dose feel a bit big, as when one upgrades to a bigger rib with more space would also like to fit both. with a double console would fit one eaither side.

I dont know where you get your willpower from. If it was me I would have to tape on a set of leads, hook it up to a fuel can and try it out. The suspense would kill me.
