The royal motor is a great spot. I hope to do both Alderney (depends on accommodation) and round Iow.

My boat is currently under repair but up for a spin soon once it is back in the water. I presume you know Poole harbour well but if not happy to show you around.

matt, what's it like launching at christchurch?
What states of tide is it possible?

I've got a 3.8m sib with transom wheels

With a sib, almost every state of tide bar low springs though you might have to walk it over the bar.

Advantage is that if you launch at the slip upriver, you're in fresh water on the way back in so don't have to flush either.

scrap that, I can already see a public slip way off of wick lane which looks good with a car park just up the road that looks big enough for trailers.
Could also launch over the other side of the river at the rowing club, I assume there will be someone to abandon the trailer over there?

Wick Lane is the one to use. I can get my Ballistic in there without any issues. Trailers go on the edge of the car park.

Wick lane for me too, me and PeterM were over there Wednesday night launching and easy peasy, just dump the trailer to the side and £2 for 2 hours parking
