I've emailed the PZ harbour master asking his advice about launching and parking, but think that even if you need a visit into PZ to top up with fuel, it may be better to leave from Falmouth. (Looking at Google maps theres a Tesco fuel station a mile away from PZ harbour, a nice walk or a short taxi ride?)

If the harbour master in PZ replies, I let you know what he says..
Hi Mitch, if you decide to depart Fal, bearing off for PZ would be a waste of fuel and a total faff. If you wish to depart PZ, go for it.
We reckon Fal to Scillies to average 60Nm with a bit of tiddling about.

Thanks Mollers,
We carry 150ltrs ( plus up to 50ltrs in an extra aux tank) so not a push for us to do fal to scilly in one hit.
We are going for a week so expect to clock up a few mile exploring the islands.
Can you get fuel there?

Just want to make sure we get back ok if the weather turns iffy.....

If you're departing PZ, you should be well in with 200Ltrs. Yes, you can buy petrol on St. Mary's Quay. There's a pump behind the Scillionian office. You'll need cans, there are no facilities to fill the boat directly from the pump.

Fuel available from Sibley's on the harbour wall - was £2.00/litre this time last year - when I was there, I assume it will be a bit more now, although the Scillies now qualify for a reduced fuel tax.
You can also get (limited) fuel from Bennetts boatyard at Green Bay on Bryher if you're camping over there.
Have fun

Sibley's also sell fuel at the back of Portcressa at the filling station/launderette, which is only a short walk from St. Marys Harbour.

Superb, thanks fella's!! Love this forum, it's such a nice place to be compared to the other one I use!
Wished I could do the earlier trip with you guys, but Essex to Falmouth is a bit far for a weekend!

We've got a week in Salcombe booked for jubilee week of anyone's around?
