NV Inflatables

Looking for a nice RIB (12-15ft) for recreational use and I found the company NV Inflatables. The information they provide on their site is pretty limited. Is there anybody out there who can tell me anything about this company and the quality of there products?

Random Chinese junk with no warranty support. Seams will fail in 3-5 years. Or maybe not. Who knows? But currently, that is the norm.

Buy a brand-name boat. If you can't afford to buy a new brand-name boat, buy a used Zodiac Pro-System / Yachtline Deluxe, Avon Searider, Ribcraft, Humber, etc...just stay away from brands you have never heard of.

I bought an excell tender about 11 years ago one of the first into the country & at the time unheard of.It was about half the price of the mainstream brands but it's still perfect despite quite a bit of abuse
I guess at the time this boat fell into the 'random Chinese junk' category but given that most small sibs are made in China it's a bit of a contradiction
I guess untill someone comes along with first hand evidence it's a bit pot luck
But it worked for me

There is SOME good product coming out of China... however, the big question is if you want to gamble on that? If the boat falls apart after a year, will there be support? Must of the sellers don't care.

There is some genuinely good product with good support being imported though.

It seems like Excel and Honwave are the two big off-brands I see for SIBs in the UK?

11 years ago no one had herd of excell & they might have been junk just because something comes from China you can't label it all as junk it's unfair to label a product junk without first hand knowledge

Thanks for all the replies. I did some research and it seems to be a Canadian company. They claim that they build the boats themselves. There are a few points that make me a little suspicious. One is that is was hard to find out where they are located. Two it is hard to believe that their price is half or even less than half of the mainstream brands.

Why not ask for a list of customers so you can ask an owner
Obviously you'd need to.be sure they were actually owners & not just employees etc

NV boats may be a Canadian company but I would suspect that the factory on their website is in china and they are using Korean PVC according to their website ,German Mehler PVC is far better .the risk is yours , you may find it excellent but on the other hand it may fall apart very quickly .Personally I wouldn't go there

I'm with Beamsih on this sort of thing - it depends what risks you can take and are prepared to take for a bargain.

HOWEVER - alarm bells all over that website:

None of those RIBs are in water?

No physical address .

Being canadian myself I am entirely suspicious of anybody that won't list their address. I will be at my dealer getting new boat later this week I hope, I can ask them if they have ever heard of it if you would like.
