ML5 Medical Fees

Just been quoted £178.50 for an ML5 by my GP. Sounds a bit steep to me. Anyone had one done lately who can give me any price comparisons?

Paid about £70 to my GP last year . Do they really know what it involves ? (basically a list of questions only and a BP measurement).

Mine was all ohh & ahhh till I sent them the form to see what it actually was.

I had a similar problem, doctor's receptionist was confusing my ML5 with the ENG1, made me book 2x 10 minute slots but I was finished in 1.

Still made me pay for both though greedy b******s :non ono:

But still only £60, you're being taken for a ride at £178

I paid £100 last year. It seems that there is no standard price for your GP to do a ML5 medical.

Ruari - that is for a "seafarer medical exam" (is that ENG1?) it says there is no set fee for a ML5 report, which should be in line with BMA guidance. The BMA suggested level for filling in a form without actually doing any real treatment is £81. There is no requirement for GPs to stick to the BMA guidance.
