It's 6kts of cross current on a slip 2 meters from a jetty - can't get the RIB on the trailer other than during either high or low slack.
River Severn is on the menu, probably for next year - I've only been RIBbing for a year.

Without the fob I'm restricted by the cafe's opening times which are not as long as I want.
The slip next to the jetty - can you recover there outside of slack water?

Yes you can get out on the slip next to the jetty at any time it is sort of protected by the jetty the slip itself is a bit rough but is ok. I woul say get out 1 hour after or before low water but many people do any time. A recovery rope is useful so tou put the trailer under the boat and pull out with the rope

This used to be my local marina & I agree with others comments, it's very steep/slippery!

Going back a few years now I used to use their park & launch service. Basically leave the boat on it's trailer there & they would launch you whenever you wanted. Price was very reasonable. It was run through Bob Spalding, but they might still have the service running.

The service is still running - I left my RIB there. Reasonable guys. The slip is steep, I managed to try launching both with and without the wire.
Oh, and many thanks to Orwell Boy for a very, very helpful and useful introduction to the area - it was absolutely invaluable! What needs to happen now is we need to organize an outing with a few boats. Find a weekend without winds like today (I'd be going with the family) but with sunshine like during last weekend.
