From memory, pass the course, sign a few forms, pay a bit of money and provide a photo.
And if you want it stamped for inland use also, pass the CEVNI test on waterways rules.

If memory serves correct, ICC is free to RYA members but charge is about £38 for non-members. However RYA membership is slightly less (maybe £37?) so last time I looked you could get your ICC and all the benefits of RYA membership for less than the ICC on its own. Crafty ploy to increase RYA membership perhaps

It Stands for International Certificate of Competence and is gained by completing an RYA Powerboat Level 2 course. This will only be valid for powered vessels up to 10 meters in length.
