It's top stuff I've tried lots of ways of putting it on but found the best way with a 3" sponge brush, just degrease the tubes make sure you have a warm dry day to do it and you can't go wrong !!

I have brushed it on using short fast strokes though that has been in the summer when you have to work fast as its just about drying as its going on & make sure that you get a good covering with out over brushing ,
Main thing Just make sure that your all prepared ,light rub down with emery or sand paper & masking off any fittings handles, rubbing strakes ,just make sure you have enough paint before you start , Once painted an old mk Avon that would have been about 30 years old after painting the paint lasted about 6 years before it started pealing in places & i got about 8 years before repaint on a Humber rib .

Looks like it turned out well. How did you end up applying it? Is the black piece of hypalon with your company name on it one continuos length or is it smaller lengths overlapped or butted?

It is a whole length from funkymonkey.co.uk . Very good .

With applying the paint we used a brush to cut in then we used a roller with a gloss head and two coats , looks excellent , we are really happy with the results .

Hello,

I'm a french guy who manage a nautical activities center (kitesurf, stand up paddle, tow boy, PWC...). So sorry if i do language mistakes.

I checked picture of Iceman boat after painting, and I'm really impressed.

We have a BWA 7.40m, and the yellow color on inflatables parts is fade, it doesn't looks great at all, so we would like to paint it.

Iceman, I have couple question to be sure to get same result as you.
Can you confirm you use this paint in yellow colors : Hypalon Flexible Paint - IBS Boat Supplies
Can you tell me your boat length, and what quantity of painting you need ?

It looks you glue long black hypalon parts. I guess you glue it before, then you mask it with tape, then paint the yellow part. Can you confirm please ?

Did you sand hypalon before painting ?

I do not really understand. Did you start to put painting with a brush, then finish it with a roller with a gloss head ?
And do it twice (2 coats) ? How long did you wait during the 2 coats ?

I would really appreciate if you can answer to question, and give me any tips and trick you use to get such good result.

Thanks,

Greg.

Hi Greg

Yes that is the correct paint that we used .

Our steps where
1- clean the tubes ( we used a traffic film cleaner )
2- then dried the tubes thoroughly
3- sand tubes with very fine sand paper
4 then with a paint brush cut in around the black keeping the strokes the same direction
5- then used a roller with the gloss head
6- repeated this about 2hrs after first coat

The Results we where very happy with.

We only used the 500ml tin and still have around a quarter left for touching up, but take note the black tube is already their . So overall it is not much of the yellow !
