Wasn't towing, but once drove from Southampton to Plymouth.... via London, Norwich, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Carlisle, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol (in that order). Three of us shared the driving, 26 hours and 57 minutes non-stop for the 1,570 miles. It was a round Britain drive for ITV's Telethon over the May 1988 Spring Bank Holiday weekend. Hard to believe it's almost 25 years ago. I even had hair back then!
