A good quality eyebolt should have a machined thread. The bolt should have a shoulder (no crimps. actually they are called stakes) and the thread should stop before the shoulder by 1/2 the thickness of the backing plate.

YUP it has a shoulder and a machined thread.

I will try to take some pics of the ends. They look exactly l;ike a bolt that has sheared from over tightening!!!
