Economy from a 4m-5m rib - monohull vs Cat

Whats the take on catamarans? This will be used primarily for the ocean with medium swell -

I think the monohull ribs are not comparable to regular monohulls - they just dont rock with those pontoons.. so-

Is it true that the catamarans are more economical and lighter and have more deck space? And how much more economical?

If thats the case then im very tempted to snag a cat - only caveat is for wakeboarding no wake

Im not too phased about small issues like handling and tight turns - im not racing with the thing - just leisure / fishing / days on the lake etc..

current boat is 4m - and im thinking about going to a 5 / 5.5 (alot bigger!) - dont want more boat than that..
