OCTOBER 2006 this posts started and still he is able to carry out business (of sorts) to the detriment of customers.

I thought this type of dealer/operator would have attracted trading standards. Maybe he has as there are 339 replies/updates and some 65500 views of this post.

Personally reported him to trading standards & the police........Got nowhere !

I secured a CCJ against him but he still didn't give a refund.

I think he simply ignores them unless follow up action is taken.

This is why he needs to be identified !! Has anybody ever got face to face with this clown??

If I was closer I'd go round to his trading premises ! When I was having issues with him I spoke to several of his neighbours on the telephone. Fortunately for him I got refunded before I went down there but it's still on the books to get his photograph.

Dan Cooper comes to the Isle of Wight and buys sunk & scrap engines, at least one complete boat and various engines in bits.........he pays in cash. I know this by hearing various tales of Dan from Norfolk flashing the folding. He appears to have a search facility on the local 'Wightbay' website and I strongly suspect on other auction sites nationally. I say this with some knowledge of the speed of response from him when items are advertised. It strikes me that Dan might be flushed out by the judicious use of adverts which show such engines for sale. Wouldn't it be a shame if he travelled to see the engines/bits and then found out it was a scam!!!!! I'll see if - on his next buying trip - I can get a shot of him. It's time we did something about this 'pot de toss' as the French say.

If anyone has any personal details...date of birth, vehicle numbers or a national insurance number (holy of holies) I think Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs might be interested to discuss his taxation issues and fondness for the 'cash economy'

The little fellow is fond of cheap Mercury's at times............

Obviously we'd prefer not to host said Photo on RIBnet, things being what they are. However, emailing it around, or linking to it elsewhere wouldn't be anything to do with RIBnet...

Actually it was not random. A lot of cross referencing went in to that. And if you read the article you will see that they were described as seniors not youngsters. But if it saves the forum from attack by a silver medal martial arts winner from Beccles then so be it.

Part of the problem with dan cooper trading from the address at Soham is that he's not there all that often !!!
He is a menace and seems to continue to rip off lots of people, that's why I asked for a genuine photograph !

Somebody must live near Cambridge with a camera.

I was going to go and look at a outboard he had for sale on Saturday, but he sold it on Friday and I was really pi**ed off that I lost it. Turns out I had a lucky escape.
