Dave Mallett is probably one of most experienced operators in the NW, he will know the best launching sites. Are you there Dave ???

Since then we have been trying to sort out a safe way of getting to Douglas but it just isn't going to happen with winds up to 30 knots so we are trailering up the motorway. We are considering launching tomorrow morning somewhere up North so that we can try to arrive by water in Troon so if anyone has a good idea for launch spots let us know!

Thinking of Stanrear further up at the moment - we're on the M5 now so doing reasonably well, traffic is our next problem!

Keep your windows closed and everything bolted down when you pass through Sandwell

It would be great to see (if possible) a photo of the boat on its trailer. Must look a great sight.

None more gutted than the crew but the weather requires respect!

Current update (from the pub):

We have now made it to Troon ready for our trip to Fort William and the Caledonian Canal tomorrow. We will spend the night on the Canal and arrive in Inverness on Tuesday to start the long journey South. The sun is shining and the wind is dropping so it's all good!
