Different trim tabs

Oh no not again!!!!

But these ARE totally different!!!

Volvo QL trimtabs

They have been mentioned before but not in much detail - anyone knoe anything about them???

They are more like spoilers or blades that move down vertically - supposed to be very reliable and foolproof - have fancy controls and could even be used for steering!!!

Looks like they will add quite a bit of drag but then again so do all tabs - only drawback seems to be you are'nt actually increasing the effective hull length of your boat as you would with normal tabs.
