I only mess around in a honwave but there are many ribs. Flats seas, sun and clear water. You must make the effort.

Camping vestar just south of Rovinj. Very clean campsite with its own slipway, pontoons and sheltered harbour.

There is also a campsite in Trogir with the same facilities.

I've just returned from a week cycling around the islands, using a ship between ports. What a great area for Ribbing, super weather, calm seas, lovely ports, harbours line of site nav etc

Also very cheap.

My Rib is currently in France and in my opinion it would be easier to have it in Croatia as most people speak English!

We toured Croatia (three family's, two ribs) three years ago, island hopping 5 to 15 miles per day. We stayed on a different island every night apart from Vis where we stayed two nights. Even if you don't do long distances the boating really is endless. Trogir is a good place to base yourselves but the large island of Hvar would be fun too - imagine Dartmouth but with sunshine, not much tide, super yachts on the quayside and lots to do, cheap eating and that alone will give you plenty to play with. Do watch out for the wind in the afternoons, it can get a little gusty. Self catered accommodation with air con is available quite cheaply in a lot of places.

We sailed around the islands this summer and it was great. The weather isn't always benign and we had twenty knots at one stage for about three hours. Forecasts were pretty good and repeated on the vhf in English

Best part is working means club beer prices in beautiful natural harbours. Equivalent of £1.20 a pint. Food is not gastronomic but then six of us ate out every night with booze for less than £100.

We're going back next year.

I love Croatia, try and make a trip a year to Dubrovnik, just to chill, enjoy the crystal clear waters and the sun.
