Cowes Week Seafront Bar-Cafe

Just sitting on the seafront at Cowes and can't help noticing that they've built a very nice temp cafe/bar ready for Cowes Week (1st-8th Aug).

Happen to have my laptop with me (supposed to be doing some work!), and noticed it also has Free WiFi, which is nice.

Normally these temp buildings are reserved for the elite sailers or powerboat sponsors, but it looks like this year it's open to the public. RESULT! For such a prime location!
Best thing is that they've built a noice floating dock landing area for drop/off pick up, so it should make an ideal place for anyone whose crew fancies taking a break next week.

Here's the website that loads when you first connect to their WiFi:

The link takes you to I shares cup racing and shows Egypt Point , is this where this floating pontoon is. If it is out on the Cowes sea front the tide whips through here at a hell of a rate and will be rough with forecast winds

No, didn't make it out today, decided it was too windy for my liking.

Did spend a couple of hours sat down on Cowes seafront watching all those who were braver than me battling through the waves.

Was definitely choppy out there!

The floating pontoon is at Egypt Point. The tide does run at quite a rate through there, but doesn't tend to be too bad closer to the shore.

While I was there they appeared to be putting some anchors down, not sure whether they are thinking of having some mooring bouys as well, or whether it will just be a drop off/collection point.

Going to be a lovely view from there though.
