Cobra 755 Nautique Splashwell

Hi,

Can anyone explain to me how the splashwell drains on a 2008 Cobra? I've just bought a 755 Nautique and it's currently 30ft off the ground in a drystack. I'm not sure if I need to have the bilge pump working while it's in storage since I haven't seen the actual layout of the bilge area. The boat doesn't have an elephant trunk or similar drain plug just the bilge outlet and two deck drains.

thanks

From memory of the cobra boats iv been on the bilge area is under the seats and this is where the bilge pumps are located this is also where the deck drains into. The splashwell should just empty though drains in the transom so you shouldn't need the bilges running to empty this, although you may want them to clear any rainwater that comes from running down the deck.

Im sure someone that owns a cobra will be able to confirm this.

I would not worry too much, mine is on a dry stack with a good cover, never had a problem, in fact so little water gets in that I actually thought the bilge pump was not working so I tested it by sticking a hose pipe into the drain area and had to put alot of water in for it to activate and start draining. I think if youve got a cover then dont worry, just checkit it every few weeks if your worried.
