Had similar twice with Defenders, both times the linkage to the box from the diff lock lever broke hence no drive. Box stuck in a neutral gear. Easy fix both times but I've no idea if your jeep operates a similar system?

There is a disconnect between the engine and gears of the transmission. My best guess would be the input shaft or something related. You might be lucky and the clutch disk broke. Never hurts to be hopefull

Hi Tim, did you just jump in it and find it this way or did it happen when in use, clutch,halfshaft,or g,box input shaft. Sounds like a box out jobby.

My job in morning is to change mine. Can not complain 140k and its been abused big time,, still the original dual mass shite,,,

It's getting a conversion kit, Dreading it hate rolling around on the floor

Just got ours back with a new DM clutch.

500 part, 150 to fit, friends rates. Oh and a new turbo too. Hopefully get another 90k and ten yrs out of it.

Wait until you come across a dual mass that has frozen where you can't access the bolts Although a plasma cutter makes short work of it, a grinder can get the job done.
