Channel Crossing

Hi all,
I've been asked to help support a charity channel crossing for a couple of kite surfers and wanted advice on:

Admin and paperwork required
Any permissions required
Best size/type of rib to support said crossing

Any advice would be appreciated

Many thanks

Mike
