Bramble Bank Cricket ( Solent )

Saw a clip of this on tv the other night which looked a spectacle

seems a tradition of holding an annual cricket match in the middle of the Solent

can anyone tell me when the next event / low spring tide will be as wouldnt mind having a peek at this in the Summer

From a brief browse in my armagnac, I reckon you ought to take a look out there on Thursday March 20th at about 18:00 - the predicted tide height is 0.0m, so anything that's green on the chart will be dry. Add a high pressure and a northerly wind, they'll get a good game!

Fancy a trip out to the Goodwin Sands to see that match as well? (same day, about 7am )

Goodwin Sands

hadnt heard of that one, even more surreal as with a light mist you would not be able to see either coast as in the middle of the Channel ?

Looks like cricket played there as well

Bramble Bank

the March date sounds a bit chilly and probably no cricket, is there a summer / autumn low spring tide which should expose the bank ?

Maybe a few local Solent boats would like to get together for this short trip ?

Hi all

I would be up for the Solent one but agree that we need to look for a summer date. Just had a look at the tide hights (MCA cal. has it's uses) and the latest date with the right tide hights is Apr 19/20 or Sep 27.
