Just tossing a few ideas about and killing time wail I rock my son to sleep in my other arm.
D'ya think this would be too bow heavy?

Thought the original would be best posted again for comparison.

Depends what you're putting in the console?

However I would suggest that putting the console that far up would mean that you're sitting in a suicide seat at the helm on every trip.

That would make it 3. The jockey console is a single seat.

It wouldn't actually be as far forward at it looks on that quick mock up. That's why I thought about having the seat built onto the fuel box. The console would just hold the steering and electrics but with the battery in the 2 seater Jockey.

Don't think it will ever happen anyway. Most of the weight is in the centre so prob best staying that way. Just playing about with ideas.

I've been searching my library of images from our devon holidays as I'm sure Davybouys 5.4SR has the console roughly between the two positions you've shown.

I've not managed to find an image that shows it very well, however from memory there is room to stand between the front of the console and a small anchor locker Dave has glassed in in the bow, and room to stand behind the rear jockey. The boat is a true 4 seater on two double jockeys. The Rear jockey converts into a bottle rack.

This one shows it a little better.

It's a well balanced boat with the, admittedly smaller, console where it is, the fuel is in two Barrus tanks under the forward Jockey.

Nasher, thanks for finding those photos' mate. Maybe something I can look into then. The box holing the fuel needs to be thought out. Where it is now has proved to be a spot on location, specialy when both 25l tanks are full. But the box fills the width and things will look over crowded with the idea above.

Cheers again mate
