Did anyone hear about the Fairline Targa 40 which hit a metal Bouy between Lymington and the Needles on Sunday I think it was?

It was reported on the BBC South news, along with night-vision footage. Hit Bridge buoy (west cardinal off Needles) and semi-sank. Lifeboat managed to stabilize the boat, a Phantom 40.

I seem to recall a rather large ship hit the NAB Tower some years ago. It took them some time to get it away!

Re: the ship hitting Nab Tower a while back, the goss locally had it that the Skipper/OOW set the coordinates of Nab as a waypoint into the GPS - and the GPS, being a faithful and diligent crewman, delivered the ship as ordered - right on the mark!
Do you suppose something similar might have happened in this case?

Apparently a few days later a Sunseeker hit The Shingles at full pelt. It nearly made it across. The boat was eventually pulled off forwards as it was so far up the banks!!

Wish I could have seen that!
