Boat care UK goes live on RIBnet!

We’ve been posting on here for a while now using my personal account (daveh) and have taken the step of opening a trade account. Several regular posters have used us recently for various RIB-related work and have been extremely pleased with the service that we provide and the value for money that it offers, so we have decided to make our selves known to the rest of you!

To celebrate our new membership we are offering all RIBnet members 12% off all of our products, services, chandlery and electronics until the end of September. Of particular interest to members of RIBnet will be our range of RIB cleaning and protection products which will give a new lease of life to both hypalon and PVC tubes.

Not only this but we also supply all the main brands of electronics so why not get an end of season bargain now and make an order! We offer a speedy mail-offer service (if the product is in stock we offer same-day delivery to local customers) and accept all major cards.

The offer also covers all of our valeting and maintenance services. This includes antifouling, tube re-conditioning, and polishing. We operate between Brighton and Poole and as far North as the M25.

To take advantage of this great offer either PM us with your details and we will call you back, or call our Portsmouth office on 02392 796 740. Further details are available from our website: www.boatcareuk.com

Depending on the size of the job we would be willing to travel Nationally.

Thats my boat on the 'Custom Boat Pictures' section.

What do you recomend for cleaning the tubes Dave. Not something to make them sparkle but soemthing that gets the dirt off them.

It is indeed Biggles. The previous owner had it valeted by us several times.

To get the tubes looking like new and get all the grime off we suggest using our own formula which is the same stuff we use when we do a cleaning job. To make them "sparkle" we put a polish type product on them after cleaning.

I can do 2 bottles of the "grime remover" for £10 plus postage at the moment if you (or anyone else) would like to try it. We've got lots in stock and as I said before we can do same day delivery for anyone local (that is Portsmouth/Southampton area).

So how does your product compare to Ribshop's offerings, both in chemical makeup and effectiveness?

Are the products you sell chemically based for want of a better phrase? am i gonna get a kicking cleaning my boat with your products on the Hamble?

Also, if i were to want to send your products overseas? are they classified as hazardous goods for transport?

I have used Dave several times now, and have found him Polite, efficient, and always done a very good thorough job. Always asks at the end of finishing if you are Happy with the work/cleaning he has done. I truly hope he does well as he deserves to do so as he has a passion for customer service and a lot of drive to succeed.

Good Luck mate!!

I do not know what is in Ribshop's product and I havn't tested it for my self. However everyone of our customers who has tried our product has been thoroughly satisfied so I think that probably says something about how good it is.

Our RIB cleaning product is a concentrated alkali based liquid. I don't know what the policies are for use of cleaning products on the Hamble, but will try and get hold of who ever is in charge at some point today and clarify this for you.

The product is not classed as hazardous and we have used a standard courier for delivery without any problems.

Thank you very much for your kind words. You have been a valued customer and a great friend over the last few months with all the printing that you have been able to help us with. Thanks again!

Most people would probably consider those two descriptions contradictory.

Most common alkalis would be classified as Corrosive (if concentrated) under the CHIP regulations and accordingly would be considered "hazardous" by most common definitions.

Do you have an MSDS for the product?

What safety information (such as wear gloves, eye protection etc) is on the bottle / packaging.

I'm not trying to rubbish your company or your product.
