My motor is very new, and i'm trying to sell it and get an older 50/40 HP thats not visually in the best condition. Preferred Motors are as usual Yamaha or Mercury.

I then have my 2 hp outboard for emergencys.

50 HP is the max hp that the SR4 can take... Or is more possible?

You don't really want to put more than 50hp on one-they are INSANE with 50hp. Any more and you can't really use it unless it's mirror calm.

I'm propably going to get a "heavy" Merc 500 Thunderbolt, though I'll have the old set - up with the seats up front and the motor in the back

I'm looking in the near future for the lightest weight SR4 rig I can find to beach launch (in suitable seas) 2 up.

And the fuel consumption at WOT per hour?
I have the 50hp 2st yam power tilt & my brother inlaw had one with a 40hp 2st with out power tilt & it could keep up with me no problem same sort of fuel consumption just if you do a lot of beach hopping it is a right pain not having PTT Nathan on here bought it if you want more info!
Look at just under a litter per mile
