If you think the engine is the original and fitted new when the rib was built it may be easier to date the engine from the SN number.

The engine was not the original and was in such a shocking state of repair it was likely to drop off the transom at any time. Now replaced with a new 90HP.

I now have enough information to get her insured and will look to a new nameplate in due course.
