Anyone got a Cabin Rib Zodiac N-Z0?

Hi All

I am new to Ribnet having sulked away for many years on YBW.com, and have decided to get a dayboat for the North Wales coastline, and what I really like is the new Zodiac N-Z0.

Did anyone read the article in september Motor Boat Monthly on Cabin Ribs? the Zodiac N-Z0, looks pretty good as a day boat, and the review was good apart from the comment on power. I was thinking about a RIB or maybe a small cuddy sports boat anyway as an option for day boating, and the idea of a RIB with the addition of a dry area and a loo for the swmbo makes it look a good package, and the pricing is pretty OK as well.

It seems to cover the odd overnight, the good day out, ski-ing and fishing, and good handling, and with a better engine, could be a nice package, and I can dry store it or tow it.

For those who havent seen it, its nearly 7m, with a 3.2m beam, and is priced from £37,000 - currently it has a 225hp outboard, although it looks as though there may be a faster option available.

Strikes me as a good deal, and I hope to take a look at the model they have at Southampton boat show, but would be interested if anyone has actually been in one, or test driven it?

Thanks

MartynK

They also reviewed it in Sports Boat and RIB, either in June or July. Review seemed okay - as a genuine entry into the cabin rib market. Unfortunately there were no internal pictures, which seems crazy for a full boat review. Knowing Zodiac, everything will be an option. Colour scheme also looks a bit iffy - but that's just my personal taste.

Is this the N-Z0 you are looking for ? If so, seems 2 EFI 90 HP are much cheaper than 1 225 HP, this boat is complete cracyness for local use as the Pacific is very calm. This one has a central drive seat and 2 lateral seats. For that price, an expensive new kid at the marina indeed.

Happy Ribbing

I found some images of the internal cabin - not the most luxury in the world, but not bad for the size of the RIB.

Hi

Excuse the ignorance, but is this a Zodiac rib? If so, I can't find it on the zodiac ribs site.

I was looking at your site, especially the poker run. That's a nifty looking machine in pic 5. What is it?

Pretty basic internally. For a similarly priced sportsboat (not RIB), the level of specification would be far superior. However, you're paying for its sea-keeping abilities, so I suppose you have to weigh up the pros and cons.
