Anti Terrorist devices -boats-

Anyone see the BBC news this morning?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8200840.stm
They showed a searider (tell ya the truth I thought it was Nos in his 5.4) using a device to shoot across in front of the bow of a moving boat, which the boat then runs over and it snags the prop.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8200910.stm

Now collectively there's some brains on here, so get your thinking caps on lads. What devices can you come up with to stop/disable a moving boat?
The one they showed this morning wouldn't be much use against a Jetdrive. How about a remote control tesco carrier bag which homes in on the intake?
Ok fury muff, maybe not.

If they did that here the police/Navy would be sued. Daft isn't it?

My observations -

- The number of fishing pots / marks out there will do this without the endless millions I'm sure has been wasted on this hi tech gizmo ( but they are still firing it form a trusty 30 year old searider design ! )

- How long before Mr marine plod gets it in his own prop ?

- I'm pretty sure you can put bolt on rope cutters on the leg .........

Can you get rop cutter for outboards? Obviously I've seen them on the end of prop shafts but thought there wasn't one for outboards?

Victorinox do one. It comes in red with a white cross on the handle.

i think the net is a good idea but i think it would be very easy to avoid. chances are any terrorists would get caught in it because they wouldn't have done their rya pb level two so cant do high speed turns properly!

That all depends if it's made in France or in Sweden.
