10mm chain weighs about 2 kg per metre, 30m of 10 mm chain + 10kg of anchor is circa 70kg, if this is "up & down" ie in deep water in excess of 30m deep then there is no chance of recovering it without a windlass. Even if anchored in shallower water where the chain is flaked out on the sea floor recovery is not going to be easy if even possible unless you have plenty of manpower.
The arrangement of 30m of chain is nice as extra ballast up forward to trim your boat or to keep you off a lee shore in an emergency but in the latter scenario without a windlass id be
deploying the ground tackle with the mindset of not being able to recover it & just slipping the lot.
For everyday anchoring id go with Wilks suggestion.
