Advice Please-Narwhal 4 metre

A mate of mine wants to get into ribbing and is looking at a 4 metre Narwhal with a 25hp Yamaha advertised on Ebay-item no 4547599748.
He has made an offer on it(£1700) but is now a little worried that no-one has bid on it at all. Apparently it was on Ebay before and the same thing happened. Is there something he should know about before he commits himself?

From the auction location and the way the description is worded with the different colours and all, it looks like a chap that's been selling ribs on eBay before under a different name. He had all positive feedback then, but I wonder why he's gone for a different name.

I think there are no bids because of the starting price - £1700, so its less of an auction and more of a 'for sale' ad. Have a look at http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/ rib section, do a search on price between say £1500 & £1900, it'll give you an idea as to whats about for that price range.
Good Luck

narwhal...

...dont have the best of reputations for quality, but it looks intact. the trouble is with ebay you cant check as close as you can when you can view a boat so there may be cracks etc, especially on a boat that age, i would certainly try and get the price nearer the thousand mark if i were buying it.
