Nick - when in August are you planning on doing the crossing? This is top of my list this year and keen to do, but would be best to do with another boat for the first time.

I'm in a very similar setup - 5.4m with a 75 Evinrude.

With a decent size boat such as your's, I'd look at launching at mylor/Falmouth. PZ is a ball ache IMO, parking is insecure and expensive with a trailer, tides etc.. Fal only works out a touch more expensive parking v extra fuel, but you get to run around the lizard and take in some stunning coastline. :-)
