This seems to be the thing - you go over 7 meters and you can stick great big motors on the back even if the width is the same as a 6.5 meter boat?

Why the big jump with just 50cm of boat length?

There does seem to be a big difference in hull weight between manufactures which I guess generally equals build quality.

I think I have found what I am after - a Valiant Patrol SD 650 has a max engine hp of 250 and a max engine weight of 500 kg so twins of around 115hp should be fine.

Any idea how long valiant have been making these - I can't find any on the second hand market?

Give the guys a ribquest a call they do a 6.8m, its in this months rib international mag they had that boat at Ribex and its fitted with a jet pac weighing in at 420kg hanging off the transom, i was chatting to dave at ribex and i think its rated to 250hp so im guessing twin 115's wouldnt be a problem?
