A quick session

Hoping to find dolphin fish but some moron decided to cut the fad away from its anchor point again. Our fishing licence money goes towards having these fish attracting devices placed offshore to give anglers an easy location to find fish.

With that gone we headed inshore to fish around an island about 12km from land. The current was screaming in places causing a bit of chop, this combined with a bit of swell threw up the odd decent wave. Unfortunately the wide angle of the gopro makes the water look far flatter than it really was.

We only had an hour to fish so doubled the chances with two in the water and two in the boat. The less selective rod and line fishing had me and my youngest pulling plenty of undersize kingfish, still fun. The other two in the water only got to shoot a couple of small rainbow runners which were only taken for research due to being about 1500km to far south.

Just as we left a marlin turned up chasing the fish we had just been releasing, ah well next time
