only half of it

I checked out that link. He must have had a week off from his "busy life" to type all that. Wow. His mis-use of words sure does not do much to encourage believing in his general knowledge. How about "fast resonance Rescue boats"? Do these boats keep going, and going, and going....? Or boats made out of "fibreglass, wood, steal"? Maybe he was just emphasizing that his boat is a "steal". Poor guy needs to brush up a bit. Boat does look nice though...

What's a 'ridged inflatable'? Is it like a SIB with a ridge in it?

What a complete crock of shit that guy is talking.

Oh I loved reading that… what a wally.

Oh and how come if the tubes spring a leak all is well. But his “mates” RIB was half submerged when the bow tubes became detached.

What I want to know is how come he can get away with suspending said RIB by the back door, my wife gets grumpy if my RIB is sat on the drive (“it looks messy and very orange” apparently)

JK can you let us all know if you find out he is a member of RIBnet…

You are all laying into this guy with amazing spite over what he has written in an attempt to sell his boat.

You may have serious concerns with respect to his advertisement and possible misleading statements, however he is probably in blissfull ignorance about what is being said about his ad on this forum.

Rather than continuing this tirade, why doesn't one of you call him or email him, directing him towards this forum so he has a chance to answer back.

A lot fairer don't you think?

What's "unfair" about it? The guy posts information in the public domain on this "interweb thingy" and supports his strange sales pitch with his professional qualifications…..

I work as freelance Ocean Yachtmaster (skipper) delivering yachts, power cruisers etc around the world, and I just trade on eBay when I can. I value my feedback, like most ebayers, and I will try to help you as much as possible.

(If your looking to have your yacht/ power cruiser transported to the med, why not give me a try? competitive rates, crew and costs can be covered by myself, fully commercially qualified up to 100 foot (depending on vessel), can also do Trans Atlantic crossing to Caribbean, BVI’s etc).

It doesn't seem unfair to expose it to a gentle bit of mocking, now does it?

I did.

His reply:

I’ve had a look at the forum, interesting! I can understand they might think its bit strange that I just don’t do the work myself. The reason is as I said that I have a bad motorbike accident about a month ago and I’m in London (where I live) recovering (my knee got damaged). The rib is down in Chichester. I was meant to have work from just after charismas, but obviously I can’t at the moment. So I need some cash, I’m looking for delivery work to start in about two months when I should be able to walk again. The reason the rib was up for sale before was before was because I was about to start work and I just wanted to get rid of it. I think the tubes were made by Henshaws (I’m going to check tomorrow), and that’s how much they cost! They are custom made. I think I have covered most of the things that were talked about. Thanks again, Alex

Well done Pete 7. Sounds a reasonable sort of chap to me. I don't think he deserves to be called a Wally.

hmm...obviously, but I still wouldn't buy it-he really doesn't sound like he has a clue in the ebay ad. To be told so much conflicting stuff by a seller is one of the things that makes me walk the other way.
