Hi Ian - Just thought I'd let you have this guys number : He's a fantastic welder. I just sent him the design of what I wanted with a few basic dimensions and angles and without seeing the boat he produced this (pics below). I know you are looking for a replica if you can't get hold of an original - but I had this made out of 3" tube and it cost £30.00 less than the 1.5inch hoop that Ribeye stock for my boat! (cost around 600ex vat in total)

The company is C&B Marine, they are based in Chichester Marina and they are very quick and helpful...01243 511273..you want to ask for Chris.

They made this in two days once they had got the tubing in - and that was only as they had to special order the 3 inch...It is made out of 9 sections of tubing plus flag pole - each bend is welded in individually.

It looks very nice and the cost of tube has gone up some what we pay 5.40pence plus vat per meter for 304 marine one and a half inch dia so a guess wuold be 3inch tube to be 15 pounds meter cost being 60 pounds leaving 540 for days work not bad if you can get it.But unfortunately thats seems to be the price of things.Welder prob got 20pound hr 160 pounds matterials and bits 100 Pounds shops 100% mark up and vat

£20/hour for a welder? You've gotta be joking. Lucky to make £10/hr unless you're welding pressure vessels or the like.
