Paid a visit to the independent Caister lifeboat a fortnight ago ( mind you there was a beer festival on there as well )

At 12 tonnes she can manage up to 37 knots and stop in her own length but the cox told us you wouldn't really want to do it if you didn't have to........

I've seen this before but can't help thinking it must put a hell of a strain on components?
I know there's no gearbox to damage but the bucket pivots and all the mounting and operating gear must take a bit of a hiding?
