Probably just as well you didn't... do those guys carry guns? or are the supposed to stop the terrorists with the 40+ knot rib using a 2 foot baton and an aerosol of CS gas from their 25 knot boat!

Broadcasting your views and insulting a police officer isn't going to do you any favours if you come up to London in that boat again.

Every stop is logged and recorded, and I happen to know that certain officers of the close knit River Police unit (who drive their RIBS) read this forum regularly, and will almost certainly pass on your views to his colleague on the Targa that day.

Good luck on your next trip up, you may well be detained a little longer.

Tim, I am sure the officers involved in the marine unit are far too professional and focussed on their genuine task of river policing and terrorism prevention to let someone using their democratic right to express their view, become some sort of petty victimisation

Those Targa 31's are capable of a lot more than 25kts. I've no idea what engines the Met have in theirs but you might need to be doing a good 40+ to get away.

I stand corrected. Google says they do 33-42 knots depending on engine. So would be RIB based terrorists will need to get one of those amazing auzzie avons
