Hello everybody, thank you for adding me!

I'm Jay Cohen, I live on Long Island, New York. I have a 41' Sea Ray Sundancer with a hydraulic platform on the stern capable of holding 800 pounds (362KG) max. I'd like to get a 13' (3.9M) or under, inflatable with a gas engine capable of pulling up a skier. At the same time I'm very concerned with the weight. So I'd like to find what inflatable might suit this desire and keep the total weight under 350 pounds (160KG).

Any advice as to brand, material, bottom and engine would be appreciated very much.

If it's going to live on the back of your hardboat, I'd opt for hypalon if possible. Better sun resistance IMO.

My 14' SIB/Honda 40 would pull a skier to some degree (no world class slalom skiing, for sure), but I kind of doubt it would have fallen within your weight range (though it might have been close.) I'll let people who currently have that size boat chime in on rig weight.

A SIB will be lighter, but it will also get squirrelly with a skier in tow. You will need a fair amount of power to get the skier up.

Welcome to the forum in any case.

Look at aluminium hulled ribs ( not sure what's available your side of the pond) we have a ribeye aluminium rib as the tender to our regal 3760 & it's actually lighter than the previous air deck tender that was the same size & it handles far better and is easier to sit on the platform
I can ski behind 25hp but need to drop a ski if I want to mono but I can deep water start behind a 40 on a single I guess it depends what you want to do. it will obviously make sense to find the lightest engine you can so probably a 2 stroke would be best
It might be best to try the weight on the platform and see how the cruiser rides with the weight hung out the back as even light weight will make a difference to the handling
If we're expecting a roughish passage we sit the tender on the foredeck as the boat handles the rough better without the weight on the stern

A 3.5m highfield aluminium rib is 92kg with built in fuel tank,ad an etec 30 and your almost bang on your target weight at 167kg the same boat is rated to 40hp max and if you could live with a used old school 2 stroke then a 40 yam is about the same weight

I ended up with a Highfield classic aluminum RIB with a European console and a 20hp electric start/tilt komatsu 4 stroke. We gave up on the skiing idea. Picking it up tomorrow!

I'd get a Yachtline 340 Deluxe and be done with it.
