Winderemere launching fees...

....seem to have gone up. Last year (and previous years) it was free to launch my SIB as there was no trailer needed.
This weekend at Ferry Nab slipway and it seems there is now a fee of £13 on top of the £15 registration fee.
Apparantly now applies to "anything with an engine".

Don't know if that's £13 per day/launch but l won't be doing it again from there. Trouble is, it's difficult to find anywhere else within walking distance of Winderemere, so they've got it all sewn up it seems.

Over the last 4/5 years we've been told its free, or its £13, £15, £18,,,,,,

no one knew what to charge. Same set up no trailer.
We now launch from the opposite side from ferry Nab,,,, little National Trust road,,, its free to go on and we launch from there,,, no charge. So we have a little longer drive to get there, and if you need to nip into Windermere you've still got your boat to go over there.

Opposite side of the lake? Yes l did see a few little launching areas there when we were out on the water.

I guess you could leave the SIB on the 4 hour mooring at Ferry Nab and walk from there.
We'll do that next time!
