What Engine??

Hello, Im new to the Forum but i have recently bought a Honwave its 3.5m with an Aluminium Deck. Its rated upto a 20hp, i have been wondering if i would be best to fit a long or short Shaft engine so thought i would Post here to find out.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks for the quick reply! I dont doubt there will be more questions to follow. Now i need to find a half decent used engine but its not as easy as it sounds!

Would a 15hp be ok for my Boat? Would it plane with one if so would it plane with smaller?

I have a few

Just in is a 2002 tohatsu 15hp 2 stroke. Price to be confirmed. Also have a 10hp 4 stroke...

Oh and we have 3.6m suzumar and it planes with a 10hp 4 stroke. I think a 8hp 2 stroke will just do it but I'd suggest 10 as a minimum.

Make sure you keep the honwave inflated to the correct pressure,we ran ours a bit soft and the alloy floor has started to crack!
(It was being driven flat out (with a 20 on the back) in choppy water by brave young nutters mind)
But one to watch all the same,the pressure is marked on the tubes by the valves.

Sorry for delay,

UK delivery is available

Pics of the Tohatsu I have are on Ribnet. I also have a Suzuki 10hp which planes a Suzumar 3.6 ali floor inflatable. Pics and video link on Ribnet. Check my other posts for more details. Got a Merc 15hp coming in too next weekend

Lightly loaded it should plane easily with a 10hp motor. A 15 would give you a bit more in reserve though.
