T38 launch wheels, where to drill?

Hi,
Got a T38 and Honda 15o/b. I'm concerned about drilling through the 'spec' plate on the inside of the transom. Do the fixing plates but up against the glued seams? Or do I need to move them in a bit so the wheels (upright) clear the tubes? Anyone else had to drill through the metal plate on the transom? Had a look at some pics, but need more detail. Thanks in advance,
Nick

There are quite a few topics that go into detail on transom wheels - not fitted any to a Honwave but all I will say is unless it it absolutely necessary I would absolutely avoid drilling through the manufacturers plate.

I know may folks have ended up drilling through the data plate and not worried by it. But personally if the data plate location in any way restricts the perfect position to drill the wheel bracket holes I take the data plate off... make good the holes... then locate it elsewhere when the wheel job and any other fixings I might be doing are sorted.

Thanks, glad to hear it's not just me who got the plate in the wrong spot. Shouldn't have to do all this, got boat and wheels together. Methley Chandlery have been great trying to sort this, liaising with Honda and technical etc. Didn't even buy the boat from them .. (got the engine from them). Thanks for replies. Worried about knock on effect of re-selling later if I mess with the plate.

I wouldn't give that a thought. If someone comes to buy they will see the very good reason you moved it.
