Hi folks,

Just a little update, got my boat back and was very happy with the work.

Another quick question im looking into a second hand tinker to add to the collection (previously made by henshaws) the reason being i like the idea of the sailing kit, dose anyone know anything about them?

they must be fairly sought after as I have seen them change hands for what I have regarded as good money !, also not many seem to come up for sale.
supply and demand ?..........

I had a Tinker folding RIB with sailing kit. It was a clever rig, and good for a bit of fun. I sold it to a Norwegian who flew over to collect it and took it home as excess baggage!

Everything you could want to know about Tinkers is available from the class association. They are very keen! Tinker Class Owners Association

I've previously owned a Tinker sailing boat. We extended the bow dodger back to the mast and built a lip in to stop smallish waves rolling straight over the front.

Nice little boats which sailed well.

The wheels were a PITA and bulky, you could just about get them on and off with one person and a bit of wiggling.

We had a 2hp on the extra transom which powered it nicely, lock it in place and use the rudder as you would sailing or while sailing if you fancied!
